Robe dress like a cardigan
With the advent of heat, we all want to throw off everything superfluous and lighten our images, make them airy and weightless. Alternatively, you can complement the usual casual or street style with a dressing gown and use it not for its intended purpose, but also as a cardigan.
Robe dresses or, as they are also called, wrap dresses became popular in the 70s of the last century, and since then they have undergone endless changes, lost their relevance and returned to fashion again. Their current style is not particularly distinguished by originality, complex lines or decor, but at the same time, wrap dresses are very comfortable to wear, stylish and very attractive. Depending on the fabric used for sewing, such products can also warm in bad weather or cool on a hot day. The diagonal, which is created by two shelves with a smell, and the V-shaped neckline visually slim the figure, elongate the legs, stretch the silhouette and make the female neck more refined, and the deep cut on the leg will not allow the owner of such an outfit to go unnoticed.
On its own, a cardigan is a great way to instantly change the image, and its flying silhouette gives femininity and elegance. Dressing gowns – these are now not only home clothes, but also stylized elements of a fashionable street wardrobe. Therefore, many stylists recommend breaking established stereotypes and switching to a compromise option, transferring the functions of a cardigan or a summer raincoat to the dress.
Since robe dresses can be made from any fabric: silk, velvet, with oriental patterns or flowers, stripes, polka dots or other "sleeping" pattern, then they can be combined with clothes in completely different styles. The most successful and one might say "classic" an option that is suitable for using a wrap dress as a cardigan is a midi-length model from "street" materials: viscose, fine wool, etc. At the same time, if in the image the belt, which is usually used to tie the shelves of the dress, is replaced with a leather belt or the robe is left open altogether, then the level of "home" will be significantly reduced, the discomfort from the use of an unusual underwear style will disappear and you will be able to feel more calm and confident.
For evening looks for such an outfit, you don’t need to invent anything superfluous, the main thing is to leave the – relaxed and slightly messy hairstyle. For everyday outfits, the best solution would be to complement the dressing gown, which is used as a cardigan, with clothes, shoes and accessories in street style. Jeans and boots, shorts and sneakers, T-shirt and rubber boots – absolutely everything is suitable.
Cardigan dresses go well with the dresses themselves. In this case, the length of the upper layer of clothing should be several centimeters less than the lower one. This rule does not work only if we are talking about a floor-length dress. But then the cardigan robe should match the style and color of the evening dress. As a result, you get a very gentle and feminine look.
Skinny jeans or skinny pants – this is the most common and familiar option for combining different types of clothing with cardigan dresses. Slip-ons, moccasins, sneakers and other comfortable and casual shoes are ideal for such an outfit. And the image itself is suitable for almost all occasions. Well, except for parties and social events.
The same goes for the favorite outfit of modern girls – longsleeve combined with leggings. If you add it with a light cardigan, then you can make the silhouette uniform and unified.
Don't be afraid to experiment. Indeed, even in combination with emphatically street and slightly rough things, even a silk robe-cardigan will look absolutely safe and stylish.
