Normcore - anti-fashion
At a time when all fashionistas are chasing the latest trends, attending fashion weeks, scrolling through fashion bloggers' Instagram or picking up stylish shoes for a dress that they have looked at in the new collection of their favorite store, there is an absolutely opposite type of people - people who don't give a damn about fashion. They don’t gasp and groan at the amazing collections of Dolce & Gabbana, they don’t dream of a Chanel handbag, they don’t chase sales in stores, and they don’t suffer from the fact that tights do not match the dress. There are many such people, and not only among the male half of humanity. The trend in question is called normcore.
The term "normcore" appeared in fashionable use relatively recently and came from the words normal and hardcore (normal, normal and intense, relentless). Most often, people who adhere to this style do not even know about it. In the wardrobe of normcore supporters, the most simple clothes without bright prints and patterns should definitely be. The basic things in this style are black or blue jeans - skinny or boyfriend, a solid turtleneck - Steve Jobs' invariable favorite thing, simple t-shirts and sweatshirts combined with sweatpants (ideally - joggers).
Dresses and skirts are also a Normcore wardrobe staple, but paired with a bomber jacket and sneakers. Moreover, the latter should be of little-known companies or with a completely inconspicuous logo. Heels in this style are excluded, shoes should be as comfortable as possible. In addition to sneakers, you can wear ballet flats, slip-ons or sneakers.
Sharp accessories and bright details are also not in the normcore style. Of course, sunglasses and bags are indispensable. But the first and second should be done in a simple design. Various baseball caps, large roomy bags and backpacks, aviator glasses and more will be appropriate in normcore. People in they don’t want to stand out in such a style, their task is to be like everyone else. This does not mean that they do not look fashionable, they simply do not make a cult out of clothes. The main criterion by which they choose clothes is convenience and practicality, and brands and labels do not matter.
