How to wear thermal underwear

In winter, the issue of warm “equipment” becomes more and more relevant. Of course, girls don't want to dress like cabbages. But the reality is that our climate does not make it easy to dress up in winter. There is a way out of this situation - this is thermal underwear. But for it to “work” in full force, a few recommendations should be followed.

The thermal underwear performs one main function - it removes moisture from the body and retains heat. In a word - it reduces heat loss and protects the body from hypothermia. High-quality thermal underwear is made from synthetics or wool, which undergo a special antibacterial treatment. The first material is suitable for athletes: snowboarders, skiers, runners - in general, for everyone who trains outside in the cold. Wool thermal underwear is suitable for everyday wear - it retains heat well, but does not remove moisture well.

Such underwear should be worn exclusively on a clean and dry naked body. Do not try to wear any shirts, sweaters or tops under the bottom, otherwise the thermal underwear will not perform its main function: underwear will pick up moisture and you you can easily catch a cold. The exception is cotton shorts and a bra. Why not synthetic? Because moisture will not be removed from the body under a double layer of artificial material.

When choosing thermal underwear, pay attention to how it sits on you. If it seems to you that the underwear is small - do not rush to take a set one size larger. Thermal underwear should completely fit the body. Only then will it really work.

What should you wear thermal underwear with? The best combination would be fleece sweatshirt and mambrane suit (jacket+pants). High-quality fleece keeps body temperature and protects from external moisture, and the membrane does not allow wind, water and water vapor to pass through. This is how skiers dress. But it’s worth warming up like this only in severe frosts, in other cases - choose lighter clothes.
