Patches - fashion trend

Let's remember a little childhood: when we were little and came home with a hole in our favorite jeans, our mothers skillfully hid them with stripes or thermal stickers. Then it looked even fashionable! Now they don’t hide holes on jeans, but patches are sewn on purpose and the more the better.

The history of the use of patches dates back to Ancient China. Then the stripes served as insignia. This tradition quickly spread throughout Europe until famous punk star Sid Vicious began wearing metal badges on his leather jacket in the 1960s. And later, in the 70s, this trend turned into a mass one - the fashion for badges and stripes quickly conquered all street stylers. Stripes became an element of clothing decor, but they did not cease to serve as insignia, because from the drawings one could recognize the musical, religious and even political interests of a person.

Already in the 90s, badges and stripes could be seen on almost all bags, backpacks, "boiled" denim jackets, overalls and more. Large round badges with scandalous phrases and words, images of world idols - actors, singers and other celebrities were in special demand. Thanks to the same Sid Vicious, badges have gained great popularity in rock culture.

In our time, designers have given new life to badges and patches. On the catwalks of the world, models defile in a variety of T-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, bombers, decorated with many badges and stripes. The latter are completely different: metal, plastic or textile. Icons depicting pizza, cactus, donut, emoticon and others are considered especially popular. Some brands even sell separate sets of patches that you can use to decorate the right thing yourself - this is a great way out of a situation where it is difficult to finish a new thing and you can make your own.

Designers advise combining many small patches and badges. It's okay if they are all different - it will be even cooler. If you want to give the image a little boldness and creative chaos, then this trendy trend is for you!
