Beret - the trend of the autumn-winter 2017-2018 season

Knitted woolen, felt, checkered, with beads or appliqués, made of faux fur or natural leather ― all these are berets which have become the most fashionable headdress of the autumn-winter season 2017-2018. And although there is an opinion that beret adds age and gives the image a touch of "grandmother's chest", modern models say the opposite. They have already left the category of romantic accessories and are able to successfully complement whether it is a grunge outfit, total-denim or even a daring image with an abundance of leather. The main thing is  to choose the right piece of clothing to look like Rihanna.

Berets returned to fashion in 2015, when models in lyrical looks appeared on the catwalk during the Gucci fashion show, which complemented glasses with large frames and original shapes of hats. Since that time, bomber jackets, pleated midi skirts and berets have become a wardrobe must-have for every self-respecting fashionista and are no longer considered accessories for an extravagant urban crazy.

Now many celebrities, including Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, increasingly began to appear in these hats.

Unlike the models of previous years, the berets of the autumn-winter 2017-2018 season are more elegant, made of modern materials, in various designs and rich colors, with original decor or fringe trim, lace or metal inserts, with rhinestones, bows or tassels, with appliqué or embroidery. They can also be tiny and large enough to cover almost the entire head.

 

It is fashionable to wear berets this autumn, mixing it with military-style jackets, with a classic straight-cut coat and large patch pockets, with wide belts, blazers and cardigans in a masculine style, with turtlenecks, leather raincoats  and leather jackets. Sunglasses with narrow frames are suitable as an addition.

The same beret can be worn in different ways: coquettishly shift to one side, hide the hair under it, but leave the bangs open, raise the headdress and thus create a small cone or generally fix it on the back of the head. Moreover, the stylists assure that the beret will be harmoniously combined with any image and fit any style, the main thing is to choose the right model and learn how to wear it. So, girls with a round face shape are recommended to choose voluminous berets and move them to the back of the head. For those with a square face, the beret should be shifted to one side. And with an oval and triangular face shape, it is advisable to wear a headdress slightly below the hairline.

As for the color, this fall, along with the classic colors, beige and black, red, burgundy, navy blue and mustard colors are popular. But such a catchy color of the accessory should act as a bright accent in an image that does not need additional elements. Therefore, it is better to wear a beret in contrast with neutral shades, black and a nude ensemble, or in addition to the snood or voluminous scarf-plaid that is popular this season. A monophonic beret in the company of a turtleneck and a strict cashmere coat of a straight silhouette will look good.
