Japanese style shoes

Another bold shoe trend is spring – summer 2015 became Japanese motifs. Japanese sandals with a high wedge and ankle ties, as well as clogs, were once worn by geisha in Japan. Today, Japanese-style shoes can be found in the Marni fashion collection, as well as Roberto Cavalli.

The famous European designers tried to copy the mysterious style of Japanese girls when creating their new collections. Oriental traditions also touched shoes. Traditional Japanese shoes, having undergone some modifications from European designers, can now show off on fashionistas all over the world. Each girl admits that she would like to have the same attractiveness, mystery and grace that is inherent in oriental geishas.

Japanese national shoes

It is traditional for Japanese people to wear special shoes, which are cut from a single piece of wood, along with yukata and kimono. For individuals to whom the far East remains distant and mysterious, it is not known what Japanese platform shoes are called. This model is called "Geta". It is created by craftsmen from durable and very light wood (a piece of paulownia). Geta is equipped with two heels, which are located in parallel. For the theater "Kabuki" (of his cast) geta mutates – they have one heel-stand and have a large height (the heel is in the middle of the sole).

Pokkuri – Maiko-san traditional shoes made of wood. This model is expensive, because the artist paints it manually. It is traditionally decorated with small bells. Pokkuri is characterized by an insole woven from a grass called igus.

Another variant of traditional shoes in Japan – zori. This shoe has a flat sole. It is made by weaving dried igus. The Japanese are proud that this herb, and, consequently, the shoes have a bactericidal effect on the feet. Zori can be made from leather or silk brocade, silk of different colors. There are also cheaper models of zori, created from artificial modern materials.

Japanese shoes tabi – models made of thick durable cotton. They have a thumb section. The sole of the tabi is made of soft rubber material to make it more comfortable to move on the street. Tabi is practiced in the gym (for this purpose, the sole is made of cotton or suede).

It is worth noting that all samples of Japanese shoes are not able to squeeze the legs, they allow the skin to breathe. They are also easy to use, which is why some Japanese still prefer traditional shoes over modern ones.

Today, people from all over the world can get a little bit of Japanese tradition by wearing a stylish designer replacement for the geta – beautiful elegant clogs. Suitable for creating an image with hints of Japanese style and shoes with a very high platform, black ballet flats, as well as sneakers. It is worth remembering that Japanese style cannot be created with heels.
